The J. Dennis Hastert Center for Economics, Government, and Public Policy hosts a lecture by Steven L. S. Smith titled, "Is Economic Growth Moral?" at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 17.
Dr. Smith is professor of economics at Gordon College. A former visiting scholar at the U.S. International Trade Commission, he earned his Ph.D. from Stanford University. His teaching and research focuses on international economics and economic development. He is co-editor of Faith & Economics, the review published by the Association of Christian Economists.
In Thursday evening's lecture, he will present moral and policy arguments related to human flourishing and economic growth, including a discussion on the morality of wealth.
