About Us

Established in 1972, Literacy DuPage is an accredited affiliate of ProLiteracy America and has served over 10,000 adult learners in the 34 communities of DuPage County with tutoring by trained volunteers. Our mission is to provide free, accessible and customized tutoring to adults with low-level literacy skills who have difficulty accessing classroom instruction due to transportation obstacles, work schedules, or lack of childcare. The goal of the program is to help adult learners to read, write, speak, and understand English better in order to achieve independence in performing everyday tasks.
