About Us

Child's Voice was founded in 1996 by a group of families who wanted their children with hearing loss to learn to listen and talk. Using a Listening and Spoken Language approach to communication, our students are working to build their language, academic, and social skills as well as their ability to navigate the world. Child's Voice partners with families to close the learning gap created by hearing loss, with the goal of preparing each student to enter the general education setting. We believe that every child is unique, and it is our privilege to treat each child as an individual. We recognize that hearing loss is a journey that varies greatly from one child to another, and our approach is grounded in the belief that every child deserves to have their voice heard. Our commitment to this belief extends to providing every child with access to high-quality intervention and educational services tailored to their specific needs. Child’s Voice serves 400 children annually across 70 zip codes in northern Illinois. We are the only non-public listening and spoken language program in this region..
