Description
The J. Dennis Hastert Center for Economics, Government, and Public Policy at Wheaton College hosts a panel discussion titled "God, People and Management: East Meets West." Panelists include management experts Joseph Maciariello and Zhao Xiao.
Dr. Maciariello is a Hastert Center visiting professor of Management as a Liberal Art. He is an articulate spokesperson for the spiritual foundation of effective management. He has authored a number of books including Drucker's Lost Art of Management (McGraw-Hill, 2011).
Dr. Xiao is a leading Chinese economist and Chairman of Cypress Leadership Institute. Commissioned by his government to study the success of the American economy, he concluded that a moral foundation allowed the economy to flourish, argued that China's economy would benefit from the spread of the Christian faith, and embraced Christianity himself. He continues to be a respected scholar and government advisor, speaking openly about the influence of Christianity on economics. Christian activist Benny Yang will translate for Dr. Xiao.
This panel discussion will allow exploration of foundational Christian business principles and help illustrate their significance to cultures and individual lives. A light reception with the guest speakers will follow the discussion.
