Description
Dr. Robert J. V. Hiebert will deliver a lecture titled "The Septuagint: Its Origins and Significance."
Hiebert is a professor of Old Testament at the Graduate School of Theological Studies at Trinity Western University. He also serves as director of the John William Wevers Institute for Septuagint Studies and is vice president of the International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies. During his teaching career he has received numerous academic awards and research grants. His translation of the Septuagint of Genesis was published in A New English Translation of the Septuagint (Oxford University Press, 2007).
