Description
Join Wheaton College in the Meyer Science Center for Stones and Bones: A 50th Birthday Party for the Perry Mastodon.
The family-friendly open house features geology-themed activities, crafts, games, a community art project and birthday treats. It will also include appearances by Stertorus "Tor" Thunder, Wheaton's plush mastodon mascot.
The open house commemorates the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the skeleton of a Mastodon Americanus on the Glen Ellyn property of U.S. Federal District Court Judge Joseph Sam Perry. The Perry Mastadon was excavated by Wheaton College geology majors, then restored. It has been on display on Wheaton's campus since 1973.
Parking is available in the Howard Street parking lot, or on the east side of the Billy Graham Center.
