Description
The Run for the Roses Gala will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm at the Danada House in Wheaton, which has a strong connection to the Kentucky Derby. Danada House’s distinguished residents, Dan and Ada Rice, were owners of the 1965 Derby winner Lucky Debonair! We’ll be offering a Kentucky Derby-themed southern tasting menu, silent auction, horse races, raffle prizes and a short culinary show on how to make your weekend horse racing party Derby-like!
Tickets are $85 per person; please respond via email lcooney@seniorhomesharing.org, or phone 630-407-0440 ext 10, no later than Friday, April 26, 2013. Dress Code: Kentucky Derby Best. Grab your best Derby hat to wear or purchase one at the Gala!
This is Senior Home Sharing’s main fundraiser for the year. This event is important to help the growing population of senior citizens around DuPage County that need an affordable independent living option. All the proceeds go directly to serving and growing the Senior Home Sharing mission. $50.00 provides three home cooked meals per day for one resident for a whole month! $100.00 provides a housing subsidy for a low income resident for a whole week! All other donations continue to give Senior Home Sharing residents a place to call home.
About Senior Home Sharing
Senior Home Sharing, a not-for-profit organization based in Wheaton has been providing DuPage County seniors an opportunity to live independently in affordable family style homes since 1981. Residences are large single-family homes situated in neighborhood communities within Lombard, Downers Grove, Elmhurst and Naperville, Illinois. Staff members provide all meals, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and linen laundering services. Resident-centered life enrichment opportunities are cultivated within each home, while residents' needs are continuously assessed and accommodated. Visit seniorhomesharing.org for more information.
