Description
Dr. Merold Westphal will deliver the final lecture in the 2011-2012 Philosophy Lecture Series at Wheaton College. The lecture is titled "Philosophical Hermeneutics as the Postmodern Turn."
Dr. Westphal has lectured widely in the United States, Europe, China, and Brazil. Modern Continental philosophy is the focus of his research and writing. A summa cum laude graduate of Wheaton College, Dr. Westphal was a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at Yale University where he earned a Ph.D. in philosophy in 1966. He has served on the editorial boards of five academic journals and has edited and/or authored 18 books. Most recently he taught as an adjunct professor at Fuller Theological Seminary, and is faculty emeritus at Fordham University, where he was Distinguished Professor of Philosophy.
