Description
Dr. C. Stephen Evans will deliver a philosophy lecture titled "Kierkegaard's Treatment of the 'Binding of Issac': Must a Person of Faith Be Willing to Approve of Child Sacrifice?"
C. Stephen Evans is a professor of philosophy and humanities at Baylor University. He graduated from Wheaton College in 1969 and earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from Yale University. His published works have focused on Kierkegaard, the philosophy of religion, and the philosophy of psychology. He has written 14 books, including Natural Signs and Knowledge of God (Oxford Univ. Press, 2012). He is a past president of the Society of Christian Philosophers. This lecture is the sixth in the 2012-2013 Philosophy Lecture Series at Wheaton College.
