Description
Philosopher and activist Cornel West delivers a lecture at Wheaton College titled "On Being a Chekovian Christian and a Blues Man: Christianity, Pragmatism and Democracy." Best known for his classic book, "Race Matters" (Vintage, 1994), Dr. West also is a frequent guest on the Bill Maher Show, Colbert Report and Tavis Smiley's television and public radio programs. He has a passion to communicate to a variety of publics in order to keep alive the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. - a legacy of telling the truth and bearing witness to love and justice. This lecture is sponsored by the Center for Applied Christian Ethics and the Philosophy Department at Wheaton College.
