The Frida Kahlo: Timeless Exhibition is coming at last. We can't wait until the doors open June 5 at the Cleve Carney Museum of Art at the McAninch Arts Center ("the MAC") on the campus of the College of DuPage, opening us to the world of Frida.
Until then, our Wheaton Chamber of Commerce Arts & Sports Tourism Committee is hosting "Homage to Frida," a collection of artwork here at the Wheaton Chamber featuring local artists. With help from the curators from the Burning Bush Gallery at Gary UMC, we've installed an exhibition that honors Frida in each artist's own way.
The Chamber will be open for "Homage to Frida" on the following evenings:
- 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20
- 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27
- 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3
- 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, in celebration of "Frida Fridays" hosted by the Downtown Wheaton Association
Out of a concern for safety, we are offering two "waves" of opportunities for guests each evening (6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) with a limit of 10 guests per wave. Please register to reserve your time slot. Due to our small space, we will ask our guests to wear masks.
