Description
The Politics and International Relations Department at Wheaton College presents a Tiffany Memorial Lecture by Ambassador Ivo Daalder. The lecture, titled "Foreign Policy Challenges Confronting America Today and Tomorrow," is an overview of the key challenges facing US foreign policy with a focus on the Middle East, Asia, and Europe and the changes in the balance of power. Ambassador Ivo H. Daalder is president of The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, a nonpartisan organization committed to influencing the discourse on global issues. In 2009 Daalder was appointed US Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) by President Obama. Prior to this appointment, Daalder served as senior fellow in foreign policy studies at the Brookings Institution, specializing in American foreign policy, European security and transatlantic relations, and national security affairs. Recent books co-authored by Ambassador Daalder include "In the Shadow of the Oval Office: Profiles of the National Security Advisers and the Presidents they Served - From JFK to George W. Bush" (Simon & Schuster, 2010) and the award-winning "America Unbound: The Bush Revolution in Foreign Policy" (Wiley, 2005).
