Description
The Everyday Advocacy Workshop
The Everyday Advocacy Workshop explores how to prepare oneself in order to serve as an effective advocate for any oppressed group, especially members of the LGBTQ+ community. Through the exploration of Advocacy practices of the past, it will become apparent that any and all efforts taken on behalf of the oppressed, whether great or small, are valuable and beneficial. This workshop will also explore how to prepare oneself for the potential emotional challenges associated with speaking up for others. Finally, personal testimony from a parent advocate will help us to better understand the positive impact one individual can make. This workshop includes an opportunity for questions and discussion. Join us for an insightful discussion centered around helping others.
