Description
Wheaton College's Center for Applied Christian Ethics hosts a spring conference. "eMBODY" is the conference title and the focus of the sessions scheduled Monday through Wednesday.
Dr. John Cooper, Professor of Philosophical Theology at Calvin Theological Seminary, will kick off the conference with a lecture titled "The Body-Soul Relation in Scripture and the Christian Life: A Case for Dualistic Holism." Dr. Cooper teaches courses on apologetics, world religions, philosophy, and theology, and has authored several books on similar topics. The lecture takes place at 7 p.m. Monday, March 19 in Blanchard Hall, room 339, located at 501 College Avenue.
The film America the Beautiful by filmmaker Darryl Roberts will be shown at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20. A discussion time will follow. The film documents America’s obsession with physical perfection and the deadly risks associated with our nation's quest. This event will be held in the Science Center's Lecture Hall, located at 430 Howard Street.
"Righteous Bodies," a panel discussion is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21. Panelists include members of the Wheaton College faculty. The discussion will take place in Armerding Lecture Hall, located at 520 Kenilworth Avenue.
All three conference events are open to the public. For more information, call the CACE office at 630.752.5886 or visit their website.
