Description
The Community School of the Arts (CSA) at Wheaton College offers a Lithuanian Egg Dying Workshop for young artists (grades 4-8). Margucial is the traditional way to decorate Easter eggs in Lithuania.Using a candle, pin, wax and dyes, students will learn to make beautifully intricate designs on eggs. Artist Vytas Miknaitis will lead the workshop. Miknaitis creates custom cabinetwork for historic and contemporary homes and is involved in conservation and preservation of folk art creations. Growing up in the Chicago's Lithuanian-American community has given him a strong appreciation for creative expression in woodcarvings and decorated eggs common in Central Europe.
