DESCRIPTION:The Artist Series at Wheaton College presents Turtle Island Quartet in a performance.\n\n\n\nPutting a unique twist on classical music\, Turtle Island Quartet performs contemporary music in a classic string quartet. Each member of the Quartet is dedicated to upholding the standards of 18th century string players while simultaneously keeping their program fresh and exciting.With a history of mastering numerous musical styles\, the upcoming concert will feature a program of jazz music.\n\n\n\nTicket holders are invited to attend a free pre-concert talk from 7 to 7:30 p.m. in Edman Memorial Chapel East Wing. Wheaton Professor and Chicago Symphony lecturer Dr. Johann Buis introduces the music of John Coltrane and his immortal A Love Supreme.
