Ed turned that 1st job into a 32-year career. Ed started his McDonald's career as a grill man earning 85 cents an hour in Columbus \, Ohio \, then moved from the grill through management holding titles of Senior Vice President Operations and Training\, Senior Executive Vice President\, Chief Operations Officer World Wide and\, from 1984 to 1998\, President and CEO McDonald's USA \; and Ed never forgot his roots.\n\n When he retired in 1998 his business card read\, "Shake Maker\, Burger Flipper\, French Fryer\, Cheerleader." Throughout his career Ed never lost sight of the fact that the success of a 40 billion dollar corporation is driven by satisfying 40 million customers at the front counter\, one-at-a-time\, every day.
