SUMMARY:Holy Week and Easter at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton
DESCRIPTION:Palm/Passion Sunday - April 9 - 8:30 & 11:00 am Services - As we begin the story and walk of Holy Week with Christ's entrance into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday\, everyone who is able is invited to gather outside in front of the Sanctuary to process with palm branches to enact the walk into the city. If weather prevents\, gather in the rotunda. \n\n\n\nMaundy Thursday - April 13 - 7:00 pm - Come hear the poignant hymns and celebrate the sacred moments of Jesus' Last Supper with His disciples\, as we practice the gift of servant leadership together with feet washing\, prayer\, and lighting of candles for healing. Childcare provided.\n\n\n\nGood Friday - April 14 - 7:00 pm - We will remember Jesus' death on the Cross through the Tenebrae Service of Darkness on Good Friday\, with anthems and hymns\, scripture readings\, and a brief reflection from Pastors Dave and Kyle. Worship will be led by a string quartet. Childcare provided.\n\nEaster Sunday - April 16 - "Surprised by Joy" - John 20:1-18\; Psalm 30:1-5 \n\n     6:00 am Sunrise Service - Service in the Courtyard with Communion and String Quartet (Weather permitting - alternate location will be the Chapel) \n\n     8:00 am\, 9:30 am\, and 11:00 am - Worship in the Sanctuary with First Pres Orchestra  and Communion at all services.
