DESCRIPTION:SUMMER SYMPHONY CONCERTS RETURN THIS MONTH\n\n\n\nTwo evening symphony concerts\, performed under the stars\, are scheduled for Cantigny Park this summer. Admission to both family-friendly shows is free with paid parking.\n\n\n\n  DuPage Symphony Orchestra\n\nSaturday\, June 18   7 pm\n\n\n\nCelebrate the start of summer as the DSO performs "Hollywood Heroes\," featuring some of the most memorable film scores of the last 50 years. Enjoy works by Elmer Bernstein\, Klaus Badelt\, James Newton Howard\, and (of course) the great John Williams. Founded in 1954 and based in Naperville\, the DuPage Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Music Director Barbara Schubert.\n\n\n\n  West Suburban Symphony\n\nSaturday\, July 30   7 pm\n\nThe symphony presents "Cinema Classics\," a musical collection of the best movie music ever written! The program includes a medley of John Williams' greatest melodies along with film and TV music by Elmer Bernstein\, Danny Elfman\, Jerry Goldsmith\, Stephen Sondheim\, Hans Zimmer\, and Downers Grove's Tom Maslan. Founded in 1947 and based in Hinsdale\, the West Suburban Symphony is conducted by Music Director Peter Lipari.\n\n\n\nNo tickets are needed for these 75-minute "Ravinia style" concerts. Each will be performed outside the First Division Museum with no intermission. Seating is on the lawn\, so blankets or chairs are recommended. Picnics are welcome\, and food and drink concessions will be available. Parking is $10 per vehicle.\n\n\n\nCantigny Park is open daily from 7 am to sunset. Visitor information and a calendar of events are online at Cantigny.org.\n\n###\n\nAbout Cantigny Park Cantigny Park\, part of the Chicago-based Robert R. McCormick Foundations\, is the 500-acre Wheaton estate of Robert R. McCormick (1880-1955). It is home to McCormick House\, the First Division Museum\, formal gardens\, picnic grounds\, walking trails and a Visitors Center with banquet and dining facilities. This summer\, the park is hosting "Alebrijes: Creatures of a Dream World\," a must-see outdoor art exhibit inspired by Mexican folklore.
