She will share "An Update on Diversity\, Equity and Inclusion: What Businesses Want to (and Need to) Know." \n\n\n\nMs. Krishnamurthy joined the Daily Herald in 2000\, covering the north\, northwest and western Chicago suburbs. She chairs the Editorial Diversity Committee\, broadening employee understanding of the various cultures within the Daily Herald Media Group.\n\n\n\nMadhu is past president of the Chicago Headline Club\, the largest chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists\; a current board member of the Northern Illinois News Association\; and an adjunct faculty member at Columbia College Chicago. She has been awarded the prestigious Peter Lisagor Award several times from the Chicago Headline Club. Madhu speaks four languages: English\, Hindu\, Urdu and Tamil and grew up in Dubai\, United Arab Emirates. A first-generation immigrant to the United States\, Madhu's interest in journalism was sparked by watching CNN's coverage of the Persian Gulf War.
