Connection of Friends is a place to socialize with an emphasis on life skill\, volunteer and recreational activities\n\n \n\n Programming offered includes the planning\, shopping and preparing of a daily meal\; volunteering in the community\; and art\, music therapy\, gardening\, product creation and fitness.\n\n \n\n While vocational and life skill programs are taught and reinforced within the educational system\, many of these learned skills are quickly lost because there are limited community-based programs available once students age out of mandated services. As this population matures\, it becomes increasingly more difficult for parents to keep teenagers and young adults with special needs meaningfully engaged when not in school.
