DESCRIPTION:Astronomy Day is an international effort to increase public awareness about astronomy and the wonders of the universe. In celebration of the day\, the Wheaton College Science Division invites the public to visit its observatory from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday\, April 5. The College's state-of-the-art telescopes will be pointed at the Moon\, the planets Jupiter and Mars\, the famous Orion Nebula\, colorful binary stars and beautiful star clusters. In addition to visiting the observatory\, community members will have the chance to check out the Science Center's geology museum\, Perry Mastodon and the Foucault Pendulum. Families with children will be given preference to the Observatory between 8 and 9 p.m.
