SUMMARY:Alister McGrath Speaks on C.S. Lewis: Eccentric Genius\, Reluctant Prophet
DESCRIPTION:The Marion E. Wade Center at Wheaton College is pleased to present an evening lecture by Dr. Alister McGrath.\n\n\n\nDr. McGrath\, a respected theologian and engaging speaker\, will base his lecture\, "C.S. Lewis: Eccentric Genius\, Reluctant Prophet\," on his most recent book C.S. Lewis: A Life (Tyndale House Publishers\, Inc\, 2012). McGrath will challenge some commonly held beliefs about the chronology of Lewis's shift from atheism\, to theism\, and finally to Christianity.\n\n\n\nDr. Alister McGrath is a Senior Research Fellow at Harris Manchester College at Oxford University and President of the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics.A former atheist\, Dr. McGrath\, now a priest ordained in the Church of England\, is a popular speaker and the author of more than 50 books\, including the bestselling The Twilight of Atheism: The Rise and Fall of Disbelief in the Modern World (WaterBrook Press\, 2006). .\n\n\n\nC.S. Lewis: A Life\, published by Tyndale House Publishers\, is written from Dr. McGrath's unique perspective as the only scholar to have conducted a complete\, chronological analysis of the entire collection of Lewis's letters and archives\, including those held at the Marion E. Wade Center at Wheaton College. In this book\, Dr. McGrath presents a definitive portrait of C.S. Lewis as eccentric thinker and inspiring\, though reluctant\, prophet for our day.\n\n\n\nThis event will be followed by refreshments and a book signing by Dr. McGrath. Books will be available for purchase.
